The latest Harry Potter film, ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1’, has taken $125 million in its opening weekend in the US.
The penultimate film in the series has become the most popular in the franchise based on the takings and looks set to repeat the feat in the UK with it taking £5.9m on Friday and £6.6m on Saturday so far. Those figures mean it has already broken UK box office records for biggest Friday and biggest Saturday openings as well as biggest single day.
The second part of the ‘Deathly Hallows’ story is set to be released in Summ 2011.
