From original talent to the newgen...

Yizzy is unashamedly a grime fan.

He was raised on the genre, on its mythic series of clashes, radio sets, unreleased dubs, and undeniable bangers.

New single 'Freeze' finds Yizzy riding a beat from legendary grime producer Terror Danjah, while Devilman pops up to raise the temperature.

Out now, it's set to be followed by a full EP alongside a headline show in London.

Ahead of this, Clash caught up with Yizzy to talk about some of his favourite grime artists who deserve a lot more props...

Tommy B

Tommy B is a MC that's been shutting down radio sets and shelling down freestyles for the last three / four years. A frontrunner for the next wave of grime MC's, consistently releasing high quality music and videos at the young age of 19 including his latest single featuring grime legend Devlin.

Koder has been around for a number of years and is known by almost every MC in the scene top to bottom. When it comes to bars and flows he is second to none and has more then held his own many times on sets with the likes of Ghetts, Skepta and P Money.

When it comes to freestyles and bars I don't know many MC's that are more consistent that Realz. No filler, no forced punchlines, just real life relatable bars. Check any freestyle or set he's ever been apart of and I'm sure you'll come away being a fan.

Syer B

The next person on this list is criminally underrated. Syer B has been a notoriously cold since the early stages of grime but always seems to go under people's radar.

Coming from an era where bar for bar you had to be the best in order to shine, watch a set or listen to a song and you will understand that he's not called Syer Bars (Syer B) for no reason.

Stogey is a cold MC. Over the past three months he's been releasing banger upon banger. Infusing Caribbean elements into his music, he's really pushing the boundaries of what's to be expected from an MC.

Alongside his abilities as a talented producer, Stogey is definitely someone you want to keep an eye on.
