Today, Tonight: The Kooples

The label's latest couple head to the Ace Café.

The Kooples’ latest couple borrow their story from the history of North London’s Ace Café. The motorcyclists hotspot that once lent itself both to kitchen sink drama, ‘The Leather Boys’ and Channel Five’s Fifth Gear show, today has paved the way for the French brand’s short, ‘Today, Tonight’.

Directed by Frederick Scott and Nicholas Jack Davies of FRED&NICK (the duo Grammy nominated for Mumford & Sons’ ‘The Road to Red Rocks’ music video), the five and a half minute clip presents a couple both in the café’s 60s hey day and today.

Painting a ‘rock n roll’ picture – all arguing couples and motorbike races – The Kooples SS14 collection completes the story with tough leather jackets for him and contradictory sensual mesh and innocent floral frocks for her. There’s even subtitles for ultimate pretend-you’re-in-the-cinema vibes (or in France).
