Ahead of this year's Connect Festival...

The return of Connect Festival delighted Scottish music fans on its announcement earlier this year.

Located at a new site – the Royal Highland Centre on the fringes of Edinburgh – it’s spread across the final weekend in August, with a truly stellar line up.

Headliners include Chemical Brothers, IDLES, and The National, with (deep breath!) Jon Hopkins, John Grant, Bonobo, The Twilight Sad, Caribou, Ride, LOW, Mogwai, Bombay Bicycle Club, Little Simz, Idlewild, Self Esteem, and many more travelling to the site.

Tickets are on sale now, and it looks set to be one of the most exciting live music events in the UK this summer. Ahead of this, Clash have linked with the team at Connect to explore the Desert Island Disks of some of the best acts on the bill…

I find it quite impossible to choose three songs but here’s some I’ve had on repeat for a while and probably will forever.  I’m obsessed with everything Dijon does. He’s a true artist, Lady Wray has probably one of the most honest voices i’ve ever heard, and Mazzy Star are just completely unreal obviously.  I’ve been feeling a type of way recently and these tunes help me sink into it all which I love.
