The Laurel Collective Exclusive Download (part 1)

Their 'Fax Of Death' EP, track by track...

Exciting! New! Release! Times!

The Laurel Collective – much liked around these parts, to the extent where they’re headlining our next Saturday Social on May 23 – have linked up with Clash for a series of downloads from their forthcoming EP, ‘Fax Of Death’.

The release will feature four tracks, and will be presented on a super-limited-edition format – to say these babies are collectors’ items is a massive understatement, and we’ll tell you how few copies are available soon enough. Each EP features individual artwork, and the CD is part of the image – when removed, the EP is, essentially, defaced. Included with each EP is a ticket to the London-based sextet’s forthcoming secret festival – a hush-hush affair that we’ll surely reveal more information on in the coming weeks.

The EP – which will also feature a seven-inch as part of its set – will be released in June, after ClashMusic.com has made its tracks temporarily available for download: meaning that if you don’t get an EP proper, you can still enjoy the band’s skewed pop delightfulness. We begin today with ‘Window’ – next Monday we’ll have another track, and then two more across the following Mondays. Make sense? It will.

Stay tuned to ClashMusic.com for exclusive information on how you can own a copy proper of the ‘Fax Of Death’ EP, and get yourself a ticket to In The Woods at the same time. The release is the follow-up to last year’s acclaimed eight-tracker ‘Feel Good Hits Of A Nuclear Winter’, released through Domino-operated label Double Six; it attracted support from the likes of Steve Lamacq and Huw Stephens.

If you like what you hear, catch The Laurel Collective live at the Clash Saturday Social on May 23, at Notting Hill Arts Club – free entry from 4pm, plus live sets from Friendship, Ungdomskulen and worriedaboutsatan; more information here – and then at London’s Wilmington Arms on June 4, July 2, August 6 and September 3 (yup, that’s a residency).
