Six years in business, multiple collaborations with the likes of Christopher Shannon and Vivienne Westwood, plenty of blogger love and one, semi-irritating Google Chrome advert.
This week the Cambridge Satchel Company adds a five-storey flagship to its tale, as the brand sets up shop in Covent Garden.
Boasting two retail floors, a lounge area complete with free wifi (!), a basement beach hut built for embossing and an archive section for history fans, the space also doubles up as Julie Deane’s new HQ, with a private office and showroom upstairs.
Opening this Wednesday – the 8th – the James Street townhouse is the product of new investment, which also provided several new team members, so-called ‘Best In Class’ by Deane, the brand’s founder and CEO.
To co-inside with the new shop comes a line of exclusive bags, amongst them the ‘Country Garden’ collection plus non-satchel Cambridge Satchels in subtler shades of maroon and taupe.
