There is a rumoured conspiracy that Enid Blyton agreed for genetic clones to be made from her fictional collection of characters.
The playful mutants escaped upon creation and formed ‘The All New Adventures Of Us’, or ‘Tanaou’ to us lazy writers. This is a complete fabrication, and not what I get paid for, however upon meeting and listening to ‘Tanaou’, it seems a very valid explanation.
The band consist of seven talented young bucks, who offer sounds of mandolins, casiotones, theremins, lap steel guitars and glockenspiels as well as some more orthodox instruments.Their playful folk pop is smeared in literary influences and pleasing melodies. The story-telling attitude to song-writing results in lucid lyrical pieces, aimed to inspire deeper, harder thought.
The band’s live reputation managed to secure them a slot on the Electric Proms 2007 tour, before the release of any material. A debut double A-side swiftly followed and one year later, a full length album is imminent. The album, ‘Best Loved Goodnight Tales’ is chopped into shape by Scandinavian producer Magnus Lindberg and is scheduled for 3rd October.
