Is 2014 the year disco gains its revenge?
After all, the slinky funk of Daft Punk's globe-slaying comeback single 'Get Lucky' benefited from Nile Rodgers' touch, while countless new acts are beginning to hone in on that Studio 54 vibe.
Of course, there have been plenty of precursors to this. In London alone, long-running night Scandalism has helped to introduce countless clubbers to the delights of disco – whether that's by digging through crates or assisting new talent.
Heading out on tour, Scandalism have roped in Alex Metric and Yuksek for the ride. The pair collaborate under The Alexanders moniker, pooling their resources for an infinite supply of disco dynamite.
Hitting London venue The Nest on Thursday (April 17th) the two agreed to sift through their record racks and pick out 10 lesser-heralded disco anthems especially for Clash.

Yuksek selects…
Serge Gainsbourg – 'Sea Sex And Sun' (Guido re-edit)
"This is a classic disco song from one of the most talented French writers and singers. Disco wasn’t his thing, but he did it well for a couple of tracks."
Empress – 'Dyin' To Be Dancin''
"It's from the time when R&B became disco in United States. I think this track is the perfect crossover, and time mark."
The Jones Girls – 'You Gonna Make Me Love Somebody Else'
"Everything is on the bass. It has cool vocals, but the main lead is the bassline."
The System – 'You Are In My System'
"Cool disco/funk Italo song. This guy tries to look like Michael Jackson, but he's got his own style… love the video."
LCD Soundsystem – 'Tribulations' (Lindstrom remix)
"This song is only nine years old but it's already a classic for me – dancing highways, Murphy's vocals, always a good vibe on the floor."

Alex Metric selects…
Donald Byrd – 'Love Has Come Around'
"Pure sunshine vibes!"
Wuf Ticket – 'The Key'
"Great vocals and great bassline. Classic!"
Sparks – 'Tryouts For The Human Race'
"A song about sperm produced by Moroder. What’s not to love?"
The System – 'You Are In My System' (again!)
"Not strictly disco, falling more into boogie territory, but I love it and it fits in disco sets so it’s going in. Amazing video, too."
Marcus Marr – 'The Music'
"It’s not all about old disco. Great new stuff is out there too, and none better than this. My favourite record of last year and a modern disco masterpiece."
