Stone Island’s Undyed Auction

The Italian label holds a silent auction in aid of the charity CHUMS.

Nine times out of ten the result of a fashion brand collaborating with a charity is a T-shirt, and these do very well. Hands up if you don’t (at the very least) admire what Stella’s done for Red Nose Day?

The chance to own a unique piece by a label though, is quite something else, and this is the category in which Stone Island’s latest campaign falls.

Working with Friends of CHUMS – a charity that supports children and young people dealing with bereavement – the Italian label is holding a silent auction of three jackets from the SS14 collection.

Traditionally produced in a rainbow’s worth of colour, the jackets are being auctioned as total one offs, completely undyed; hence their pale appearance above.

So-called ‘ready to be dyed’ trimmings and preparation details complete each competition – not quite paint by numbers stuff mind – plus the garments will be signed by Carlo Rivetti, President and Creative Director of Stone Island; whether this will be in permanent marker or something fainter is undisclosed (no offence Rivetti).

Prices for the performance rip stop field jacket, performance rip stop nylon jacket and performance rip stop blazer have already reached £995, £700 and £375 respectively, and the bids won’t stop until midnight on Wednesday 23rd April.

With all the proceeds going to CHUMS, we can’t think of a smarter must have.
