Mz Worthy is a pivotal figure in American club culture, someone whose taste has proved to have enduring influence.
Co-founder of the ever-vital Dirtybird imprint, she steps outside of the label's confines to continue her creative exploration.
A new EP lands tomorrow – April 1st – through HE.SHE.THEY. and it's an impeccable mixture of club flavours that takes Mz Worthy's music in a different direction.
Her new 'Here I Come' EP is " a journey through different styles I love to create," she comments. Crafted "as I was becoming more comfortable with myself" it details matters of the heart, while also touching on the exhilarating, transformative power of the club experience.
Mz Worthy took charge of Starter For Five to explore different ways of opening a DJ set – to honour International Transgender Day Of Visibility she decided to focus the list on trans artists, who play such a vital role in club culture as a whole.

DJ Longstocking ‘Lerve’ [Late Night Munchies]
DJ Longstocking has been there for me so much through my transition; in a way she is my trans mentor. I love this song she created. I’ve played this many times to start off my live streams during the pandemic. It is such a great starter track!

Baby Weight – ‘Isolation’ [Admit One Records]
This is a really nice deep house track from my sister Baby Weight. It’s a great song to start up and get a club going.

Octo Octa – ‘Goddess Calling’ [T4T LUV NRG]
Had to put this one in from Octo Octa. This brings me back to my early days of raving in the 90s with those amazing breakbeat vibes.

Arca – ‘Time’ [XL Recordings]
I just love this song so much! I would totally drop this into an early set when I can get more experimental with what I play.

Honey Dijon – ‘Lift’ [Classic Music Company]
The vibe on Honey Dijon’s ‘Lift’ is one fits perfectly when I heat up a club. It has deep vibes that bring everyone up.
