Soul Clap are outer-galactic ambassadors of funk, a Boston-bred duo who continually find ways to stay funky in the machine age.
Combining new cuts with lesser heralded gems in their set, Soul Clap have maintained a partnership with Brooklyn's Bastard Jazz Recordings.
Now onto the third instalment of their ever-essential party documents 'Tempo Dreams', the duo continue to ransack the crates for further communication from a funkier dimension.
Out now – order your copy HERE – Soul Clap decided to toast the release of 'Tempo Dreams Vol. 3' with a very special playlist for Clash.

Dam Funk – 'Searchin' 4 Funk's Future'
Any list of modern funk has to start with it's torch bearer, Los Angeles' don dada Dam Funk. From his epic key-tar solos at his live shows to his collaboration with Snoop Dogg as 7 Days Of Funk, Dam is truly a one-of-a-kind artist, who basically kick-started the whole modern funk movement. This jam is one of our favorites because it's the future.

Zackey Force Funk – 'Cocaine Lady'
Hard to choose a favorite off of one of the best albums of 2014. Glass Tear Groove is perfect for the club and Press Play is so damn funky, but Cocaine Lady has gotta be the most original and innovative, not to mention, sexy.

Inkswel – 'She Likes Techno'
Australia's Inkswel is one of our favorite modern funk artists because his sound is so electronic. The lyrics of this song say it all: "she say she like techno, but she don't like the funk / the industry is so cut-throat, they play a bunch of fake techno junk." We're psyched to include an exclusive new Inkswel jam on our upcoming 'Tempo Dreams Volume 3' comp.

Social Lovers – 'Baby Tonight'
The Social Lovers just just dropped an album on one of our favorite modern funk labels, Cherries Records and this is the track we've been playing the most. The whole album is incredible and you should go get it!

Tom Noble – 'Funk Mystikz'
This was our first introduction to Tom Noble aka Disco Tom, who not only makes dope modern funk jams, but also is one of the kings of the record re-selling business (you know: Discogs, eBay, etc). Now he lives in Brooklyn, he's opening a record store and we've got so close he even gave us an exclusive jam for 'Tempo Dreams 3'. Go get 'em!

Psychic Mirrors – 'Midnight Special'
Psychic Mirrors is a band from Miami, loosely officiated with Cosmic Chronic Records, but also releasing on PPU aka People's Potential Unlimited aka the resurrectors of lost funk and R&B music. This is the flip side to Charlene, which is one bad ass funk jam, but 'Midnight Special' takes it to the weirder galaxies.

XL Middleton – 'Sunset On Sunset'
Also carrying the torch for all the West Coast gangstas in low-riders is XL Middleton. Like Tom Noble, he produced some jams on Zackey's album and – like this jam – all his shit is straight G. Oh yeah, he's got a track on our 'Tempo Dreams 3' comp as well…
