Broken Beat pioneer gets behind the decks...

Seiji isn't his real name.

But it's perhaps appropriate that Paul Dolby is able to retain a form of anonymity. A vital, influential producer his legacy, his pervasive yet subtle touch on modern dance music often goes unrecognised.

Which is a shame. Helping to fuse together a myriad of styles under the Broken Beat bracket, Seiji has shifted from house to drum 'n' bass, R&B to 2-Step. Working on the Bugz In The Attic project, Dolby has left behind him far more than his fair share of seminal discs.

Continuing to push forward, Seiji is preparing something special for an upcoming FabricLive appearance. Taking place this Friday (July 13th) the bill for Room Two has been hand picked by Funky godfather Roska.

Seiji takes pride of place, alongside Raf Daddy (The 2 Bears), Foamo, Brackles, Doc Daneeka, Shox, Jamie George and of course Roska himself.

Ahead of the event, Seiji has pieced together a fresh DJ mix for ClashMusic. Typically eclectic, the mix is threaded together with a rare energy, with some real club vibes.

Opening with James Morrison (!) and continuing with George Fitzgerald there are plenty of curveballs along the way.

Listen to it now... Grab it HERE.
