You probably first clapped eyes on the Robert Clergerie x Dover Street Market monochrome lovelies when the latter celebrated its tenth London anniversary back in September (here).
Alongside labels like Simone Rocha and Vans, RC contributed to the birthday spirit with a small capsule collection of leather shoes, then exclusive to Rei Kawakubo’s infamous concept store.
Apparently inspired by ‘punk, minimalism and Japan in the 80’s’, the four styles reference archive shoes (circa mid-late 80’s Clergerie), boasting a collaborative aesthetic courtesy of DSM and the shoe brand’s creative team, led by Roland Mouret.
Following their limited debut, the collection’s pieces have now been made available across the globe at specifically selected Robert Clergerie stores, marking a petite turning point in better footwear.
