Ringo Deathstarr.
As band names go, it is both funny and clever. Hailing from Texas, the band formed in 2007 and since then have released a steady stream of limited edition singles and EPs on labels across the globe.
In love with noisy post-hardcore and the fuzzed up harmonies of shoegaze what emerges pays homage to early 90s guitar music without ever seeming forced. Debut album ‘Colour Trip’ is an enthralling release, mixing ear bleeding guitars with songwriting which gently tugs at the heartstrings.
Set to return to the UK shortly, cult imprint Club AC30 have stepped in to give Ringo Deathstarr’s debut album a full release. Mixing the auto-destructive edge of The Jesus And Mary Chain with the downbeat yet glamorous pop of The Cure ‘Colour Trip’ is a triumph first time out.

Imagine Hearts
I just had some idea to make a song based around a drum sample, but not actually use the sample. Was thinkin of Tom Tom Club and stuff.
Do It Every Time
Wrote it in the amount of time it takes to listen to the track. Spot the cruyff in the bedroom homage.
So High
It was a hot summer morning, picked up a guitar and this popped out.
Two Girls
A really old song that never really got used before now…
Kaleidoscope
About girls and colours.
Day Dreamy
Speaks for itself.
Tambourine Girl
We played it live once and someone thought we’d gone metal. A lot of lyrics on the album are inspired by films and LSD or mushrooms.
Chloe
This has a guest appearance by Pete Feigenbaum of NYC band Dino Walrus…
Never Drive
This is named after a pedal that was used on the song…I had just bought it at the time.
You Don’t Listen
Just wanted to have fun.
Other Things
This was written by our drummer Daniel but thought it should sound like lil Wayne so we did some stuff like that.
