Preview: Who To Catch At Lovebox 2016

Clash rounds up some special talent...

It's summertime, and Lovebox is here.

Victoria Park's two-day event brings together all shapes and sizes, all colours and hues, under a singular mission: to create the best damn party in London.

This year might well be their best yet. Felicity Martin rounds up the finest talent on display.

Jorja Smith – Saturday, Soundcrash x Clash arena
Walsall rising star Jorja sits within the pages of our latest print issue as one of our Next Wave picks — and for good reason. The vocalist will be bringing her unique brand of socially conscious soul to our very own stage in association with Soundcrash on Saturday, alongside Jamie Woon, Jack Garratt and Odesza.

t q d – Friday, FABRICLIVE stage
The bass tag team that is Royal-T x Flava D x DJ Q will be hitting the FABRICLIVE stage in Viccy Park for presumably what’s gonna be a series of sub-quaking club weapons, garage gems and grimy numbers. Gun fingers at the ready!

LCD Soundsystem – Saturday, Main stage
If you tuned in for James Murphy and co’s performance at Glastonbury – or indeed, if you were actually there – you’ll know how unmissable this set is (regardless of the fact that noone at T in the Park actually showed up for them…) One more stop on their series of reunion shows, it’s bound to be a rundown of the hits.

Goldie – Friday, i-D stage
Reniassance man Goldie is always a safe bet for any festival watch, only he’s gonna be playing a special hip-hop set on this stage, hosted by Gaika. Expect loadsa old skool classics in a return to the sound that got the drum ’n’ bass don originally hooked on music…

Nightmares On Wax Soundststem – Friday, Corona Sunsets
The Warp records vet will be pitching up in the park on the Friday. One of the label’s longest-serving artists — the longest, in fact — the constantly reinventing producer will no doubt be throwing down some of the finest in acid house and ‘80s Balearica. A must-watch.
