'The Firewatcher's Daughter'

Brandi Carlile was born in a humble town outside Seattle, and cut her teeth busking on the streets for spare change.

Now she's one of America's most potent songwriters, counting the likes of Graham Nash, Sheryl Crow and childhood hero Elton John amongst her fans.

Fifth album 'The Firewatcher's Daughter' is now complete, with the material set to emerge this Monday (March 2nd).

It's a diverse collection, one steeped in classic songwriting yet betraying a rare confidence in her own ability.

'The Eye' has a flowing three part harmony, as musically complex as it is emotionally engaging. 'Beginning To Feel The Years' is the sign of an older, more mature artist, one at ease with her own experience while still engaging with fresh ideas.

Closing with 'Murder In The City' the collection has a freshness and vitality which is quite, quite beguiling. Clash is able to give European fans their first taste – check it out now.
