Anton Newcombe and Tess Parks are a perfect pairing.
Deeply individual artists, both are from North America – one from California, one from Toronto – with both choosing to settle and make art in Europe.
Now the pair have decided to release a joint album. 'I Declare Nothing' follows a recent Record Store Day release, and will be available from June 29th.
A full tour is forthcoming, but before then Clash asked Tess Parks if she could pick some of her favourite tracks from Anton Newcombe's Brian Jonestown Massacre catalogue.

'Open Heart Surgery'
I remember my friend Kayla playing me this song and it instantly just ignited something in me. Such a simple, beautiful love song.

'Servo'
Classic Brian Jonestown Massacre. Can't go wrong with this. Just makes me want to jump and dance around. It sounds like good times.

'If Love Is The Drug'
Easily one of my top favourite songs of all time. It's just perfect. Anton is the most gifted composer and lyricist.

'Get Some'
All I've heard of this song is a live version… it sounds like the Velvet Underground, but better.

'The Devil May Care (Mom & Dad Don't)'
Yeah, wow, again… Anton just knows how to write songs that have a serious impact on his listener's emotions. He can literally just put the same chords you've heard a million times before together and it will be better than anything you've ever heard.
