Playlist: Darlia’s Rehearsal Room Picks

Ahead of their set at The Great Escape...

Darlia don't care what other people think.

The band simply go onstage and have fun, an exhilarating, raucous, pulse-quickening live experience.

Clash invited Darlia to play a special in-store at Cheap Monday's flagship Carnaby Street store recently, and they smashed it – a punk rock experience in an extremely intimate space.

Set to play our stage at The Great Escape, Darlia will take their live show to Brighton's fantastic East Wing venue.

Ahead of their set, Darlia picked out some rehearsal room favourites…

Brian Jonestown Massacre – 'Anemone'

I always play this song to people to see if they like it to see if I like them.

– – –

Wheatus – 'Teenage Dirtbag'

We may or may not have spent more time playing this song in rehearsals than our own. And that was before I got an acoustic simulator pedal. Listen to Iron Maiden baby, with me (Dave:) Ooooooh

Tatu – 'All The Things She Said'

Pretty sure there hasn’t been a singular day on the road that doesn’t involve this song in some form. Typically starts off with one of us singing it nonchalantly, gradually building up to layered harmonies and precise dance manoeuvres in under 18 seconds.

Spin Doctors – 'Two Princes'

Greggles, drums: First CD album I ever bought. Love the drums and general production.

– – –

Mötley Crüe – 'Dr Feelgood'

Dave: Because I like to imagine I'm in 1980's Hollywood at least four times a day.

– – –

Oasis – 'Supersonic'

Because Oasis.

– – –

Mercury Rev – 'Goddess On A Highway'

A beautiful song.
