Pharrell Williams Named 2025 Met Gala Co-Chair Alongside A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton and Honorary Chair Lebron James

The spring 2025 exhibition from the Costume Institute will take inspiration from the work of Monica L. Miller, who will also serve as guest curator.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has announced the title of its spring 2025 Costume Institute exhibition along with a list of the 2025 Gala’s co-chairs. Pharrell Williams, Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky and Lewis Hamilton will be co-chairing the event alongside Anna Wintour and Honorary Chair LeBron James.

Titled ‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style‘, the exhibition will draw inspiration from the 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity by Monica L. Miller who will also serve as a guest curator. According to Vogue, who made the announcement early today, the exhibition will “examine the figure of the Black dandy from its earliest depictions in 18th century art to modern-day representations from the runways and film”, and Black dandyism “as both an aesthetic and political construct.”

The Spring 2025 exhibition will mark 30 years since Wintour hosted her first gala in 1995 and the first since 2003’s ‘Men In Skirts’ to focus solely on menswear.

‘Superfine: Tailoring Black Style’ will be open from May 6th – October 26th 2025.
