Nudie Jeans: Steady Eddie Heavy Japan

The label's heaviest offering yet.

A kilo of organic Turkish cotton, 2.6 metres of 18. Oz Kaihara selvedge, 2.45 metres of thread, six rivets and four silver plated buttons; the recipe for Nudie Jeans’ latest arrival is akin to that of a grand feast, as befits a denim of which the brand’s creative director claims she fell in love.

“This fabric became part of our dream and the Nudie Jeans love story,” confirms Maria Erixon of her first meeting with the rich texture, some 13 years ago.

Working alongside Kaihara Mills, today the Swedish label presents a new jean titled ‘Steady Eddie Heavy Japan’; produced (in Japan) as a celebration of craft, it claims the title of Nudie’s heaviest offering.

A batch of just 1000 will be available, as of tomorrow, each numbered and carried in its own Unica box, complete with a book, poster and ‘Tenugui’, a Japanese cotton towel which doubles as wrapping.

For people who really despise jeggings.
