Newcomers Of 2010 – Walls

Bliss-kissed waves and gliding Balearic beats

Killing us softly, Walls debuted on the safe-as-fuck Kompakt label with a krautrock-inspired journey which saw this pair of newfound friends drench us in sunrise emotions, bliss-kissed waves and gliding Balearic beats. It’s spacious music where the soaring gaps are filled by the processed and looped guitar of Alessio Natalizia, AKA Banjo Or Freakout, whilst Sam Willis, veteran DJ, takes up the electronic pulses. “Our music is just in between that blissful state of waking,” explains Sam. “Like a Sunday morning when you wake up and you know you can go back to sleep. I think that’s what we want out of music. We want it to take you somewhere.”

Did You Know? Alessio Natalizia used to be in the Italian punk-funk trio Disco Drive.
