Neighborhood and Carhartt WIP first hooked up in early 2012, releasing a collaborative T-shirt and umbrella to celebrate the latter’s then new store in Shoreditch.
Today the two have been brought together on a bigger project, releasing a full Neighborhood x Carhartt WIP collection that features jackets, trousers and an iPad case too.
Founded by Shinsuke Takizawa in 1994, Neighborhood is a Japanese workwear brand, producing products based around the idea of “basic clothing created by digesting unique interpretations of elements from motorcycles, military, outdoor, trad, etc.”.
Carhartt WIP on the other hand – also founded in 1994 (an extension of the 1889 established Carhartt) – similarly focuses on a contemporary existence of the original name.
For the shared line, the respective design teams have come up with a clean aesthetic that embraces the best of both, hence Neighborhood’s key leopard print covers the traditional Carhartt Dearborn Canvas.
Released across Europe next Thursday, the collection will be available from selected Carhartt stores.
