When Boxed first started it was little more than a few friends and some dedicated enthusiasts promoting grime's production wing.
Fast forward three years and the club night is a legitimate phenomenon. The Boxed gang are fresh from a BLOC takeover, while the approach they exemplify – forward-thinking, hard-hitting instrumental grime – is shaping itself into fresh sounds on a daily basis.
Boxed toasts its third birthday with a special night at East London's Laundry venue on March 24th, featuring the entire core Boxed crew plus a host of surprises.
Mr Mitch has been there from the start, and he agreed to pick out a few stone cold Boxed classics ahead of the big day…

Lolingo – 'New Cross Gate'
I’ve been playing this one since early 2014/late 2013, such a good flip on the original and the Elf Kid vocal has given it a new lease of life again!

Duppy – 'Man's On Road'
I gave this out recently but I made it for the first Boxed Boiler room and people went mad for it.

Iglew – 'Urban Myth'
I played this at the last birthday and immediately people started putting their lighters in the air.

Murlo – 'Rhythm And Gash' Refix
Everyone and their uncle has an edit of 'Rhythm And Gash' these days but back in November 2013 Murlo dropped this for the first time at one of our nights in Birthdays and everyone went mad. Think it got wheeled three or four times. I was standing at the back of the room chatting to someone at the time and I just remember launching my pint somewhere.

Spooky – 'Faithless'
I’ve got a thing for R&B edits obviously. First heard this one when Spooky dropped it at the first Boxed x Boiler Room. Been playing it ever since, bouncy vibes.
