Acclaimed British songstress Martina Topley-Bird is set to release her first album in five years – and you can hear it exclusively on Clashmusic.com!
After shooting to fame on the back of her stunning vocals on Tricky’s seminal trip-hop “Maxinquaye”, before releasing “Quixotic” under her own stream in 2003. Topley-Bird is one of the nation’s most in demand singer’s, producing notable work with David Holmes amongst others.
New album “The Blue God” is the product of sessions with hip-hop’s boy wonder Danger Mouse. The Gnarls Barkley mainman has produced some of the most anticipated albums of 2008, and this LP is no exception. Containing lead single “Carnies”, the album has a stomping, soulful feel backed by challenging electronics. New single “Poison” was released on May 5th and is unashamedly pop in the same vein as classic Motown.
