ABOUT BUNNY

London based four-piece alt-rock band made up of Jemma McKenzie-Brown (vocals), Alex Malseed (bass), Karl Hopkin (guitar) and Ed Riman (drums) take to the stage next Tuesday. They introduced themselves to the world with their debut single ‘Special’, a slice of infectious post punk which caught the attention of BBC Introducing and RTE2 amongst others. They received their first BBC Radio 1 play with their 3rd single ‘Goodside’ from both Nels Hylton’s Future Alternative and Alyx Holcombe’s BBC Radio 1’s Introducing Rock show. They released their first E.P. ‘Mixtape Vol. 1’ in January 2023, cementing their arrival on the London alternative scene and spent the rest of the year playing to sold out crowds supporting the likes of Himalayas, Snayx, Jools and Noah and the Loners.

The first single of 2024 ‘Glue’ earned About Bunny their first Spotify editorial playlists including ‘New Music Friday UK’ and ‘Hot New Bands’. They also managed to bag two more ‘Track of the Week’ slots on BBC Radio 1’s Future Alternative. Their second E.P. ‘Savage’ is due for release later this year.

CARPARK

Trashing the rule book and re-writing the narrative of what a rock band ‘should be’. They are the fun, relatable and refreshing band with Irish roots that this generation needs. Weaving together nostalgia, power, and infectious melodies they create a sound that transports you straight into the heart of a captivating coming-of-age movie soundtrack. Comprising Scottie on bass and vocals, Hattie on guitar, and Loda on drums, Carpark’s music is a blend of the grunge sound of the 90s mixed with the electronic feel of modern rock completed with indie/pop vocals. The band’s childhoods were soundtracked by the rebellious anthems of pop/punk legends such as Paramore and Blink 182, whose influence has also crashed its way into the mix. Their music delves into personal experiences, touching on loneliness, heartache and addiction. As a newly signed band they remain self-managed artists, driven by a desire to inspire the next generation and challenge the status quo.

With previous releases championed on BBC Radio 1, by Jack Saunders, Alyx Holcombe and Nels Hilton, Carpark have also proved themselves as an impressively powerful and dynamic live act from humble beginnings. From playing their first show out of a friend’s garage in Belfast to playing a jam-packed tent at 2000 Trees, they have been quick to win over new live fans. Following their highly successful headline tour across the UK, this summer they have also won over the crowd at Barn on The Farm, 110 Above festival and have been on the road with Lauran Hibberd, Kelsy Karter, Beth McCarthy and The Libertines. Taking on the live scene one city at a time, Carpark thrive on the chaos.
