LFW Buzzwords: Day Three

Topshop Unique and Ryan Lo come up trumps.

LAYERED: Perhaps it was the styling and the quantity of product that made Topshop Unique’s AW14 collection so, but the doubled up look has never been seen so fine. Blue to grey to black to brown to yellow to beige and beyond, while far from being a rainbow collection there were several key shades of note.

Being a winter collection and all, coats and jackets made quite the impression, with sleek puffa jackets and big faux fur things taking most of the glory. Zip fronted and politely collared shirts were another prime player, seen in lemon leather and smart grey, while the finishing party numbers made the case for visible shoulders.

Top Look 28: A shiny green puffa paired with thigh high suede boots.

WESTERN: Pretend pistols popped and the greenest of cacti set the scene, as Ryan Lo’s girls stood, sat and danced in an array of frocks; strictly no trousers from the man for who love is the drug – or inspiration, at least.

Instead metallic quilting, pastel knits and Lo’s trademark frou frou numbers were paraded atop wooden boxes, while bows, fringing and frills were heavily embraced. Additionally Stetsons and a collaboration with Swear footwear – bright coloured trainers and wedges – finished off the look.

Top Look: The yellow rollneck with frills and fringing.

Track of the Day: 'Run The World (GIrls)' by Beyonce, as heard at Topshop Unique.
