Hannah Laing Picks Her Ultimate 90s Dance Tracks

Peak-time bangers from the essential selector...

Hannah Laing crosses multiple genres, building her sets with a unique sense of energy. A true boundary-breaker, she’s quickly gained attention with her quick fire blends and colourful performances.

Her recent ‘Triple F’ EP set tongues wagging, while last year’s Essential Mix was easily one of the best debuts that hallowed series has seen in quite some time.

Set to play Room 1 at fabric on June 21st, Hannah Laing has dug through the crates to select her seven favourite 90s dance cuts – the peak-time bangers her parents used to spin at home, and the deep cuts she’s popularised through her eclectic sets.

Tony De Vit – ‘Bring The Beat Back’ (TDV Records / Tidy Trax)

I can’t understate how influential only Tony De Vit is for me, getting the chance to remix this track last year was a real honour, make sure you check out some of his mixes and documentary if you can, proper legend.

Lisa Lashes – ‘Looking Good’ (Tidy Trax)

The Queen of Hard House, on one of my favourite labels of all time, Tidy Trax. I was on the same line-up with her recently at Forbidden Forest and it was great to tell her in person how influential she is to me.

Brain Bashers – ‘Do It Now’ (Original Mix)

Released on Tidy Trax and co-produced by Rachel Auburn, this is a track that I recently sampled for my collaboration with Reinier Zonneveld and PUSH which came out on Reinier’s, Filth On Acid label.

Natural Born Grooves – ‘Groovebird’

My family is probably the biggest influence on musical taste and this a track I remember hearing loads when I was younger. Included this in my Essential Mix, always gotta play pitched up!

Fergie & BK – ‘Hoovers And Horns’ (Original Mix)

I couldn’t make a list without including one track from BK, so I’ve picked two! Here he’s collaborated with another absolute legend, Fergie and the track title says it all!

Cortina – ‘Music Keeps Moving’

Produced by Ben Keen aka BK, ‘Music Keeps Moving’ is a track that has stood the test of time and I can’t think of a more consistent producer in the scene than Ben. Loved getting the chance to release him on my label, doof and looking forward to working more together.

CRW – ‘I Feel Love’ (JamX & De Leon Remix)

This track never leaves my sets and is one I’m always asked about. One of Mauro Picotto’s many amazing projects, I’ve opted for the JamX & De Leon Remix and this one always goes off at doof events.
