The British Sound Project – Victoria Warehouse, Manchester (September 29th) TICKETS
Ah Britain – land of cream teas, Olympian success and… dodgy political decisions. In fact, for many young people, there’s probably never been a time when being British was less appealing.
Thankfully, the British Sound Project is on hand to remind us all that there’s one thing this Secptred Isle can still provide: fantastic music.
The line up for this Manchester event includes Southampton three-piece Band Of Skulls, Deaf Havana, and Scottish juggernaut Twin Atlantic. Not be missed.

Macka B & The Roots Ragga Band – The Garage, London (November 18th) TICKETS
Macka B grew up around sound system culture – in fact, one of his earliest memories is of a Lord Barley set resonating through the walls of his house from the blues party next door.
One of the most distinctive voices in dancehall, his gravelled tones fuse patois with some uniquely British observations, resulting in a highly potent mixture. New album ‘Health Is Wealth’ is out now on Greensleeves, matching a penchant for dub reggae with those tuff dancehall vibes.
An electric live act, Macka B & The Roots Ragga Band are flying the flag for a very special part of British music.

The Jesus And Mary Chain – O2 Academy, Liverpool (September 21st) TICKETS
The Jesus And Mary Chain are the alpha and omega of noise rock, a band born by smalltown boredom and Thatcher’s attacks on working class Scotland.
Still a potent force, the group returned with a rightly celebrated new album this year, proving that the raw rage of Jim and William Reid is still intact. Attacking each show with relish, The Jesus And Mary Chain will kick off another tour this Autumn, including a rare date in Liverpool on September 21st.
From the sheer noise of ‘Psychocandy’ to their more refined latter fare – and of course that new album – this should be a set to cherish.

The Big Moon – Westgarth Social Club, Middlesbrough (September 28th) TICKETS
The Big Moon work hard. Damn hard. Almost perpetually on tour, the band played hundreds of shows last year, taking their scuzzed out indie pop across the land. With their debut album receiving a Mercury nomination, it seems like it’s all paying off for the London four-piece.
Announcing yet another UK tour for this Autumn, The Big Moon will hit just about every town on the map – but we’ve gone for Westgarth Social Club in Middlesbrough on September 28th.

It’s a bass-heavy tropical paradise… on a boat!
Yep, this could only happen in Bristol. After two land-locked ventures the Fiesta Bombarda take hold of the Thekla venue for some serious bass depth charges, courtesy of grime-meets-jazz talent Swindle, future-forward talent Addison Groove, and more.

Hot Plate with DJ Q – 24 Kitchen Street, Liverpool (September 28th) TICKETS
DJ Q is one of bassline’s most pivotal names, someone who sluices together UKG, grime, and more to create his own tough yet utterly infectious sound.
Kicking off his All Night, All Week tour, DJ Q is set to head to Liverpool on September 28th and this represents a chance to catch one of the country’s most under-rated selectors in an intimate environment.
It’s all wonderfully simple: DJ Q all night, playing some of his most stellar tracks, and a slew of exclusives both new and old.

Jackhammer with Dave Clarke and Neil Landstrumm – The Caves, Edinburgh (September 15th) TICKETS
The Jackhammer team tackle Edinburgh venue The Caves, one of Scotland’s most vital centres for electronic exploration and an all-round rave hub.
The legendary figure of Dave Clarke will take the controls, a seminal figure in the evolution of what could loosely be termed a UK techno sound.
Also on the line up is local hero Neil Landstrumm, a producer whose eccentric undulations through the outer limits of club culture has made him a hero to the connoisseurs. Dress to sweat, as always.

Colore presents Shanti Celeste – Hare and Hounds, Birmingham (September 15th) TICKETS
There’s little else that can excite the Clash team like a small club done well. Birmingham’s Hare and Hounds boasts one of the country’s most forward-thinking booking policies, regularly uniting left-field selectors with an up-for-it Midlands crowd.
Shanti Celeste hits Colore on September 15th for an all-night set, exploring the darker regions of house and techno while sluicing together all kinds of imaginative colour.
A subtle but overpowering DJ, her sets have an ability to sit outside the norm while still remaining warm and inviting. Strictly 100 cap – so get in early.
