Down To Funk presents or:la – Meraki, Liverpool – 16th November

Down To Funk have brought some hefty names to the Liverpool scene over the last few years including the likes of Crazy P, Guts, Disco Tech and Andrew Ashong..
Hotflush signee, label boss at Deep Sea Frequency and Warehouse Project resident DJ or:la – influenced by everyone from Moodymann and DJ Stingray to Luke Vibert and Led Zeppelin – returns to her spiritual home of Liverpool for an intimate DJ set at Meraki.
Expect tunes as varied as her musical influences, and a vibe only this city can bring to the dance floor.

20 years of MiNt Club presents Sir David Rodigan – MiNt Club, Leeds – 17th November

As part of its 20th anniversary celebrations – and an extended farewell party, having announced its forthcoming closure – MiNt is throwing a dance to end all dances with reggae and dub legend David ‘Ram Jam’ Rodigan.
The club issued a statement earlier this year saying: “The area around the club is being comprehensively redeveloped and we were not able to renew or extend the lease.
“It has been a big one to swallow for all of us here and there is only one way to go. In style. Over the next months we will be celebrating over 20 years of fantastic music with a series of special shows.” Closing parties will run until 31st December, with Ram Jam’s being one of the headline listings.
Derrick Carter played Mint's first show for Back To Basics in 1998. Since then, promoters such as Back to Basics, Technique, Asylum, Teknicolour and Bigger Than Barry have thrown parties here – make sure you get down to one of the best before it closes its doors forever.

Erol Alkan: To The Rhythm (All Night Long) – Sub Club, Glasgow – 23rd November

Phantasy label boss, producer and DJ Erol Alkan is by no means a stranger to the intimacy and warmth of Sub Club, playing there a handful of times over the past five years, bringing his idiosyncratic fusion of rock, house and techno with defined excellence.
This time around, Erol's appearance is made even more special with the fact that Sub Club can guarantee four hours of uninterrupted Erol Alkan as he goes 'All Night Long' in the booth.

From experimenting on the decks at Bristol youth club parties, witnessing the white heat of rave and the founding moments of jungle and drum’n’bass, Bristol boy Roni Size has become one of the most respected jungalists out there, with production credits spanning dozens of labels, projects and releases.
Size has produced stripped down underground classics like ‘Time Stretch’ to smoothly sophisticated Top 20 UK hit ‘Brown Paper Bag.’ His debut album ‘New Forms’ was a hit with audiences and critics alike – making the Top 10 in the charts but also scooping up the prestigious Mercury Prize.

Yazmin Lacey – Patterns, Brighton – 15th November

Purveyor of smoky, soulful jazz, and alumni of Clash Live @ Metropololis, Yazmin Lacey sings with the directness and emotional clarity of classic soul.
Having written in her bedroom for her whole life, she began to play acoustic shows in 2014. As her reputation grew locally in Nottingham, she came to meet the diverse group of musicians who would form her band.
Their subsequent EP combined Yazmin’s incisive songwriting with the vitality of jazz, creating a sound that resonates with lovers of soulful and honest music, and one that’s won plaudits from the likes of Gilles Peterson.

Soundcrash presents Ulrich Schnauss ‘Now is a Timeless Present’ – Oval Space, London – 22nd November

Ulrich Schnauss presents ‘Now is a Timeless Present’, a career-spanning retrospective encompassing key works from the past two decades. The German electronic composer will be selecting fundamental music from his back catalogue, much of which has not been performed live before.
Simultaneously uplifting and otherworldly, the music of Schnauss combines multi-layered synthesizers with beats and ethereal vocals, serving as an aural escape route from the trappings of reality: perfect for Oval Space – a huge, atmospheric, hangar-style space at a disused gasworks.

Kut Management presents: King No-One – O2 Academy 2, Sheffield – 15th November

These indie pop rockers from York specialise in uplifting anthems and shimmering guitars powered by feel-good tropical beats. Starting off their journey in 2013 by uploading tracks to BBC Uploader. The boys have gone onto win international songwriting competitions – with track ‘Millennium’ – and support the likes of Embrace.
They played a packed Humber Street Fest this year – which saw an audience of 32,000 people take to the streets of Hull – catch them live now to see what all the fuss is about.

Tobi Sunmola – Soup Kitchen, Manchester – 14th November

Making music at the meeting point of hip-hop, chilled soul and intellectual poetry, Tobi Sunmola has grown into a Northern treasure. Tobi is of Nigerian origin but moved to Manchester at the age of sixteen, where his passion for music developed at his local youth centre studio.
Like contemporaries Obongjayar and Kojey Radical, he combines his love for hip-hop and spoken word with rich African rhythms, and he uses them to grapple with important social and racial issues.
Named as MOBO’s ‘One to Watch’, as well as being championed by the likes of Huw Stephens and Mistajam. this is a golden opportunity to see Tobi perform in the city that helped form him as an artist.
