Hailing from Washington D.C., the Fort Knox Five are otherwise known as Sid Barcelona, Jon Horvath, Rob Myers and Steve Raskin.
These four numerically challenged fellas have been a presence on the international funk and breaks scenes for several years now since the launch of their label, Fort Knox Recordings. It’s perhaps a surprise then that they’ve only just released an album of their own. ‘Radio Free D.C.’ hits record shops this month. Containing the Fort Knox boys’ eclectic mix of hip-hop, funk, electro and dancehall, it’s a dazzling party record that would be perfect summer’s listening, were it not November. Both funky and politically-savvy, the Fort Knox Five are here to make you dance, while considering world issues.
Fort Knox Five’s ‘Radio Free D.C.’ album is out on Fort Knox Recordings on October 20th. Read Clash’s review of it here.
