On Tuesday Lorde was the subject of the week’s first music x fashion hook up, with the announcement that the singer is to collaborate with M.A.C Cosmetics on a limited edition range to debut this summer.
“I have loved M.A.C Cosmetics since I was a little kid,” the former Clash cover star remarked. “I remember saving up to buy my very first M.A.C lipstick [Snob] at 14, and it was used by about 20 of my friends!”
Already Lorde has worked with the make-up artist Amber D; a senior M.A.C artist, Amber is responsible for Lorde’s tour looks, as well as those she presented at this year’s Grammy and Brit Awards ceremonies.
“M.A.C has a very clear aesthetic, that has always felt fashion forward to me,” the singer added.

On Wednesday meanwhile, a collaboration between Pharrell Williams and Comme des Garcons was confirmed; the announcement follows the news of Williams’ Uniqlo range and Comme des Garcons SHIRT’s work with Supreme.
Set for launch in September, the scent is to be called G I R L – replicating the title of Pharrell’s new album – and will be suitable for both sexes. It marks the first collaboration with a musician for the Japanese label.

Lastly, Lykke Li has been working with & Other Stories on a collection to complement her forthcoming third album, it was announced on Thursday.
Made up primarily of black pieces, the capsule range is said to be inspired by the Swede’s nomad lifestyle, as she says: “It’s been a dream of mine to have the perfect leather sac filled with the bare essentials, like a true nomad ready for business, and Stories gave me that chance. This collection is my version of that lifesaving sac and will be my uniform until the day I die.”
Working with several of the label’s designers, the resulting collection features clothing, bags and shoes, and will be released this autumn.
