Exclusive Baracuta / Ben Sherman Competition

Win a swanky new jacket!

Lovers of fashion rejoice! Two of Britain’s most iconic streetwear brands have united on a great new jacket – just in time for the first rays of Spring sunshine.

Ben Sherman has remade the Baracuta G9 jacket, beloved by both Mods and Skinhead alike, into a cutting edge design. Retaining the essential flavour of the original jacket, a few new twists have been added to make temperature rise amongst the fashionistas.

The first jackets made using the G9 design appeared in the 1930s, becoming a staple of the Ivy League style. The G9 first impacted on public consciousness when Elvis wore one in the 1958 film “King Creole”, and quickly became a must-have item. In the UK, sussed street kids embraced the Ivy style with a passion, and the new youth cult of Mods, and in turn Skinheads, embraced the Baracuta jacket with a passion.

Of course, another aspect of the Mod and Skinhead uniform was the Ben Sherman shirt. Taking the buttondown design so beloved by Ivy League stylists, company founder Arthur Bernard Sugarman added a few important elements to make a stylish – and affordable – shirt for British youth. A design classic, the shirt was as important to the Skinhead and Northern Soul scenes as reggae and Motown were on their respective record decks.

The two company have helped define style amongst British youth for nearly 50 years – a collaboration between the two has been a long time coming, making this event all the more special.

Made in a limited edition of 400, you’d better act fast to be a part of this hugely exciting fashion event.
