“My characters are drinkers,” Chad Easton tells the camera, below, “they’re all blue collar workers.”
The artist behind Timber! – turning that classic lumberjack catchphrase into a noted Etsy business – has collaborated this season with skate’s moral conscience, the California based brand Element.
Together the pair have produced a capsule collection of premium pieces such as selvedge denim, the work shirt, coverall jacket, work jacket and a set of suspenders, as well as a more casual selection including tees, fleeces, shoes and accessories; a set of five skateboards completes the line.
Each part of the collection takes its cue from one of Timber’s illustrations, while the premium denim pieces specifically, have been themed around established characters The Keeper, The Bygone, The Faller and The Trader; Easton’s work also covers the collection’s packaging and hangtags.
“The garments were inspired by the saloon bar I drew for the collection, where I expressed the workmen’s bond, the bond between people drinking together,” he confirms.
To celebrate the partnership the brand is inviting fans to dress as a workman and enter Timber’s world, courtesy of the Boot Beer tour cum launch party heading out across Europe.
Beginning this Thursday at Brooklyn Shop in Gent, Belgium, the six-date tour also takes in Milan, Lyon and Paris between now and into October; we’re told attendees will be offered the chance to win a piece from the collection as well as a Polaroid camera from the Impossible Project.
