Element: The Road To Wolfeboro

The skate brand takes a trip.

In 2014 skate brand Element has made its mission collaboration, working with artists on projects that explore something deeper than a simple plaid shirt.

In September this meant partnering with Timber! illustrator Chad Easton (here), and today it means following the photographer Brian Gaberman on a journey from New York to Wolfeboro, New Hampshire.

The Road to Wolfeboro – as this latest project is titled – focuses on Gaberman’s passion for analogue photography, most notably wet plate collodion.

Travelling together for ten days, the staff photographer was able to showcase to his colleagues, an art form usually reserved for outside hours activity, while as a company Element could soon visualise the parallels between it and the photographer, hence the video above.

In the Wolfeboro collection – the initial premise for such a project – fans can find just the jacket for their own journey, with both padded orange pieces and denim shirt jackets amongst the 12 styles on offer; naturally, Brian trialed several across the trip.

Not to be painted as a simple slice of indulgence, the project is accompanied by an exhibition of the same name, set to tour Europe across November and December. Stopping first in Barcelona (21st November), Lisbon on the 28th and culminating on the 4th December in London, the tour will also embrace music with live performances from Képa aka Bastine Duverdier,
