Electronic Talents #10: L-Vis 1990

One-man bass army maps his plan

No-one makes bass music quite like L-Vis 1990. Huge hooks, jumpy synth lines and punchy two-step rhythms combine together to invert garage, house and grimy electronic funk into something far more interesting and infectious than any of its component parts. And although he’s been around just long enough to release a couple of memorable killer tunes (‘Apple Bass’ and ‘United Groove’), 2011 is set to be the year when James Connolly fully explodes, particularly when his debut fulllength album drops in the first half of the year. Watch and learn from this freshfaced forward-thinking producer.

Essential 3: ‘Apple Bass’ (Tres Cool), ‘Change The Game’ (Tres Cool), ‘United Groove’ (Mad Decent)
