Eclair Fifi Picks Out Some Killer Valentine's Jams

Ahead of her new Scottish residencies...

There's no place like home, or so the saying goes.

Eclair Fifi has taken that to heart, with the DJ packing her bags following five years in London.

Returning to her native Scotland, she has lined up new residencies, taking control at Edinburgh's FLY and Glasgow's Sub Club.

Two revered spaces, the sets kick off tonight - February 14th - with a special event in Eclair Fifi's home city of Edinburgh.

It's Valentine's, too, which is set to make her return that little bit extra special...

She comments:

“The timing couldn’t be better. I’m moving back to Scotland after being in London for nearly five years so it feels right to start a residency at one of my all time favourite clubs as soon as I move back.”

“It feels like a proper home-coming and I’m so happy to be welcomed to Glasgow like this, these parties at Sub Club will be special. Also continuing my residency at FLY in Edinburgh is just natural to me; I love their parties, the whole crew and it’s an excuse to be in my hometown even more!”

To seal her homeland romance Eclair Fifi picked out some Valentine's jammers for all you passionate weekenders...

Tracy Kerr - 'If You Want My Lovin'

A record i've wanted for a while but it's never available on discogs... the way the pads creep in at the start of the song make me melt!

Sam - 'Life' (Club Mix)

Dreamy song from a UK soul singer.

Frances - 'Surrender Your Love' (The Melian Dub)

A true Miami gem - I picked this up in Technique records, Latin freestyle is one of my fav genres but this one hits a bit different, much more dreamy and slow than the usual freestyle hit.

Laissez Faire - 'In Paradise'

An old favourite. This song makes me feel like I was born in the wrong decade. I wish it was available in karaoke bars, I'd kill it!

Jules Shear - 'When Love Surges'

Another old favourite - I play the instrumental of this out quite a lot as it's a bit more DJ friendly and extended (go check it out!), but this vocal one is on repeat at home all the time.

As far as I know this was the only 'electronic' track Jules Shear ever made, when I first heard this about 15 years ago I went digging for more of his tunes and much to my dismay he had no other records like this.

Of A Kind - 'Dreams (Dreams Dub Mix)'

One of the more expensive records I have, worth every penny, every single version is a beast. Most 'dub mixes' from that era is usually an absolute jam. Ticks all the forlorn heartbreak boxes for me.

Blake Baxter - 'Our Luv'

Everyone knows this one... but I had to include it. A perfect techno Valentine song!
