Eastpak x Courrèges

The brand's latest collaboration is a lesson in minimalism.

Like the love child of a Tammy Girl backpack circa 2001 and Raf Simons’ own collaboration with Eastpak for AW13, the brand’s new hook up with Courrèges is lopsided, futuristic and chic.

Similarly to Nicomede Talavera’s four-season partnership before it, the Courrèges collab is rooted in simplicity, reimaging the classic Eastpak aesthetic with new basic shapes and minimal colourways.

The silver, single strap style is most prominent, almost by default referencing ‘Space Age’ era Courrèges (think 1964), while the Plister moves away from the fluid sense the others carry, instead displaying a logo, zip front and all over heavier characteristics; a large travel bag, it has been designed with the ‘Mini Cruiser DIVA’ in mind, a neo-retro styled skateboard from the pair.

Not available until November – but exclusively at Selfridges – the capsule collection is a solid mash up of old references verses new thoughts.
