Supplying this week’s exclusive mix for Clash is Shuttle – a relative newcomer to the scene but one who you might know as Passion Pit’s drummer, Nate Donmoyer.
Yes, if Passion Pit is a day job for Nate, then Shuttle very much takes over when the sun goes down and the clubs open up, supplying a giddying range of bass-heavy dance flavours, both live and as a producer and remixer, in-between working on his own debut album.
His Clash mix is a superb showcase of recent electronic highlights from all and everywhere, taking in the best of dubstep, bassline, garage, techno and ambient house. Included in this fine selection are Burial, L-Vis 1990, Martyn, and excellent breakthrough act Untold.
Highlights here are many, but notable moments include an essential track from B12 off-shoot Posthuman and – for good measure – an Erykah Badu track, remixed by Nate himself. Everything here is, of course, seamlessly mixed, demonstrating Shuttle’s considerable knowledge of heavy beats and dirty bass. Really can’t recommend this one enough – miss it at your peril.
