The most common accusation hurled against UK hip hop is that it doesn't have an identity of its own.
Thankfully, that's not a criticism which could be lodged against DELS. The Big Dada backed rapper have a unique take on hip hop, drafting together various threads of electronic music under his impeccable flow.
Spending the year developing his live show and his studio routine, DELS is now ready for his next step. Out next week (November 26th) the 'Black Salad' EP is a bold, dynamic package that matches the rapper's voice to a variety of guest producers.
Kwes handles production on 'Bird Milk', which also features BILA on guest vocals. Elsewhere, 'Not Today' is produced by Micachu cohort Raisa Khan – who has previously worked as part of the DELS live show. A concise yet provocative work, 'Black Salad' is rounded out by 'Sell by Date' (produced by Coby Sey) and 'You Live In My Head' (produced by James Spankie).
Ahead of its release, ClashMusic has gained an exclusive stream of 'Black Salad'. Stream the EP in its entirety below.
