Released simultaneously in London, New York and across the web today (Japanese fans will have to wait till Saturday to part with their cash in person), a new capsule collection sees the Dead Kennedys lend their image to Supreme.
Doing what the skate brand does best – that is, collaboration – the small collection consists of just a work jacket, hoodie, sweat shorts, one long sleeve tee and three of the short sleeve variety, each dressed in the band’s original artwork.
Two ‘new original’ graphics are set for release alongside the above, likely to intrigue and infuriate in equal measure hardcore fans of the hardcore band.
Aesthetically the initial impression of the range is pure Supreme – simple shapes, casual components – but the grim realities of punk art demand its separation from other Supreme collabs of late, not least the spotty-go-lucky playful approach witnessed with Comme des Garcons.
See below the inspiration behind one such T-shirt.
