Rising vocalist Leo Stannard first caught our attention via a series of exceptional self-released tracks.
Working independently, the soulful pop voice quickly gained international attention, with taste-maker imprint Black Butter swooping to sign him.
Set to release his debut album later this year, each new song from Leo Stannard seems to find the alt-pop riser racing ahead.
With a flurry of live performances scheduled for summer, his is a name you'd better get used to seeing.
With that in mind, Clash caught up with the singer to chat about his extra-curricular activities...

Blood Diamond. I’m an absolute sucker for Leonardo DiCaprio and I love films that give a bit of an insight into completely different cultures and industries. I never knew how mad the diamond industry was!
Also, got to mention Shape Of Water from this year. Guillermo Del Toro, the director, really knows how to make a beautiful film.
Neil Young - 'After The Gold Rush' / Kendrick Lamar - 'To Pimp A Butterfly.' Sorry I couldn’t just pick one, and these two might seem like a weird combination but they’re both genius. Neil Young is just an absolute master of songwriting and I’ve listened to this album my entire life so it has to be in there.
With Kendrick, the album is so musically and conceptually complex but really incredible once you wrap your head around what’s going on. Lyrically it’s just so raw as well, he’s properly brutally evaluating himself throughout.
Favourite TV Show
I’m actually re-watching Breaking Bad at the moment and it’s just as good the second time around! It’s so cleverly written, it’s like watching a play at times with all the monologues and they’re constantly dropping really clever, subtle hints about what’s going to happen next. Heisenberg is the man.
My scuba diving dive computer. I’ve got really into scuba over the last few years. It’s crazy, you’re operating in and exploring a completely different world to the one you’re normally in.
Anyway, the dive computer lets me know exactly what’s going on under the water and in my body which helps keep me alive, so that’s a pretty cool gadget.
