Honestly, when a band features a percussionist who chooses to perform under the moniker of Sexual Chocolate, you stop what you’re doing and listen to them.
Crystal Antlers are a Californian outfit whose brand of rock taps into the ebb and flow of the tides, the spots of the sun and the humming grind of the Earth’s everlasting turn; it is both one with nature and wholly supernatural, Comets On Fire reborn as a fresher-of-face collective with designs on freaking the mind into the week after next. Plus it’s got some wicked organ licks in it.
The band’s debut LP, ‘Tentacles’, receives a UK release via Touch & Go on April 6, and it follows last year’s magical self-titled EP. It’s all ends up The Good, and will surely be reviewed on these here pages before long.

Movie
Back to The Future Part II – I love when the sequel is better than the original. I also really want a hover board.
Book
‘Psychic Soviet’ by Ian Svenonius. It could give you a point of view on anything, if you were looking for one.
Album
Rudimentary Peni, ‘The E.P.s of R.P’. It is great going to the beach music.
Track
‘ABC’ by The Jackson 5.
Television show or series
It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia.
Exhibition
Black Panther: The Art of Emory Douglas. I saw the exhibit a few days ago in Manchester.
Holiday destination
Lake Geneva, in Switzerland, is the most beautiful place in the world. Freddie Mercury spent a lot of time there.
Gig venue
The Bottletree in Birmingham, Alabama. They let the bands sleep in an old Airstream trailer behind the place, and they give you clean socks. Plus they have great food and you can try to fix your van in their parking lot all day if you want.
Live band or DJ
Bad Brains. We watch old show videos on Damien’s PSP every tour.
