Esteemed UK duo Layo & Bushwacka! Provide this week’s Clash DJ mix, showing why they’ve built themselves a reputation as one of the most solid house production and DJ acts in the game.
Formed by two friends – Matthew ‘Bushwacka’ B and Layo Paskin – who met at a warehouse party in the eighties, the duo went on to set up legendary nightclub The End (which provided inspiration for some of the material and mixes they were to release) and the unique Olmeto label, as well as spawning three artist albums and three mix albums.
Featured artists on Layo & Bushwacka!’s mix include techno heavyweight DJ Koze, Kompakt’s Superpitcher, tech-house type H.O.S.H. and dub-electronica demon Deadbeat, as well as a track from L&B themselves, of course.
The mix explores some of the more unusual sides of house, kicking off gently before exploring ambient, tribal, dancefloor and minimal moods.
Layo & Bushwacka!’s bi-monthly ‘Shake It’ event takes place at Village Underground in Shoreditch, London, this Saturday, December 4.
