As always the line-up is stacked with a curated selection of performers & DJs and we will be running until the early hours. This month we are partnering with BFC. Inspired by the favelas of São Paulo, founders Gabriela Vallim and Agatha Saldanha believe in the transformative power of music as a bridge to art, community building, networking and creating positive change in the nightlife industry. BFC is a place to be unapologetically yourself respecting people’s individuality while sharing similarities. The ultimate goal is to achieve relevance and influence by highlighting Brazilian urban culture – BFC2TheWorld.
Nestled away under Covent Garden Market, STEREO is the latest live music and cocktail bar to join the London scene. Inspired by the vibrant late-night cultures of New York and London, complete with undertones of Parisian chic. The Lost Explorer Mezcal is a handcrafted spirit made in Oaxaca, celebrating the earth & elevating the soul to live curiously.
As always the line-up for CLASH Live x Baile Funk Culture on April 4th is stacked with a curated selection of performers & DJs and we will be running until the early hours. Gabriela Vallim from BFC has provided a breakdown of this months performers…
Izzy Bossy
A long-time friend of Clash, London-based DJ, producer, and businesswoman Izzy Bossy is a prominent figure in the UK’s electronic music scene. Izzy founded Bossy LDN, a creative agency that promotes female and non-binary artists and has been featured across international media.
Th4ys
A Brazilian DJ and producer, based in Minhoca Favela, São Paulo. frequents the city’s top funk dances. Influenced by digital platforms like Spotify, she has collaborated with artists like Dz7, Aurora, and Zimba. Th4ys believes that funk music is a celebration of community and a curative movement for the favelas. She has performed at events such as Lollapalooza 2023 and collaborated with artists such as LabFantasma, Kanye West, Quavo, Sidoka, and Afrika Bambaata. In 2023, she also acted as Red Bull’s controller at the Brazilian Lollapalooza.
Polo Soleri
Polo Soleri, a DJ producer and music enthusiast from London, has a 13-year track record in the industry. He has worked with Warner Music Group, Metro Bank, EDF Trading Limited, Soho House, and fashion houses like Chanel, Diesel, and The British Fashion Council. Polo has also supported local and international artists on headline concerts and tours. He hosts a weekly radio show at ‘The Beat – 103.6 FM’.
Lilo
Lilo was raised in Brazil and cut his teeth musically in London. He uses music as a creative expression and relief. She learned piano and discovered the DJ Hero turntables as a 12th birthday gift. She identifies similarities between Brazilian and Western music, leading her to represent her country, particularly the baile funk scene. Lilo is a genreless DJ, creating playlists for her audience and promoting otherworldly vibes. She encourages booking women and breaking down the gate to build a community.
NICO
NICO, is one of CLASH’s favourite emerging DJ and producers from North West London. He has been a key player in the London DJ scene and a long term resident at CLASH Live events, showcasing his eclectic music taste. His diverse range of genres includes Hip-Hop, Bashment, Afrobeat, RnB, Garage, Amapiano, House, and Baile Funk. NICO has already collaborated with brands like Levi’s and globally recognised artists DJ’ing at major festivals worldwide.
DAZLBOY
Marvin, aka DAZLBØY, is a DJ and multi-artist born and raised in the east side ends of São Paulo, Brazil. He’s witnessed various transformations in the Baile Funk scene and aims to bring his experiences to the streets with the hottest Automotivo, Ritmado and Bruxaria blending with Y2K pop and hip-hop hits in Baile Funk remixes. His sets journey through different branches of Baile Funk, also mixing in the high-paced vibes of Jersey Club and Techno. Get ready for a sonic ride that captures the essence of the streets and the energy of the underground scene.
Knox38
South London Rapper Knox38 started his musical journey in 2018, and first hit the scene with “Options” on Donae’o label Movin Anti. Followed up with tracks like “Oh Nana” ft. ChynaSix and “No Passa”. He add; “I would say my sound is assertive and charismatic – embodying the essence of the streets, delivering an urban vibey experience for listeners”.
Danielle Gudgeon
Danielle Gudgeon is a professional dancer with over 15 years of experience in dancing, teaching, being a performance director and implementing the best methodologies to deliver enjoyable and safe Samba and Baile Funk dance classes. From São Paulo – Brazil, she started actively participating in the São Paulo Carnival when she was 7 years old, carrying and passing on her family’s artistic heritage. Living in London for 19 years, she has steadily built her presence around Europe whilst keeping LDN as her home.
Nicolas Macena
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nicolas Macena started his relationship with dance in his childhood having Funk and Samba as seeds of his dance career. Nicolas’ dance academic journey started when he was 10 years old, and at 12 years old already was acting as a choreographer. Nowadays he is mainly acting in Samba, funk, commercial and hip-hop working as a Dancer, dance instructor and Choreographer.
Kobi Coker
The cultural/social commentator who, also writes, hosts and has a deep infatuation for apple crumble and custard – we collectively respect that. Kobi is on a mission to see the beauty the world beholds and in the process aims to leave it a little better than he found it.
R3DD
R3dd is known for her versatility and ability to hybrid different genres, and eras, of music and her Soul infusion of cadence and character. Lyricist, vocalist and songwriter, as a host she brings unmatchable vibes and confidence from the experience of DJing and dancing by the age of 15. R3DD is a natural with many aspects of music and possesses a voice saturated in talent, a history embedded in music and aspirations that will challenge the music scene, socially, academically and spiritually.
