Amidst all this talk of a jungle resurgence, few have moved the sound on so loyally, so effectively as Sully.
With his background in grime and dubstep, the producer was able to fuse rolling Amen breaks with an awareness of modern bass culture, cutting edge electronic developments.
As a result, Keysound endorsed EP 'Blue' was a genuine thrill. All ruffneck tempos, bass bulges and spine-crushing rhythmic feats, follow up EP 'Concord' is out now via Hsuan.
Suitably impressed, Clash invited Sully to craft an exclusive mix for us. Far from a straight jungle homage – although it does touch on those influences – the producer has turned in a wide-ranging, percussion-led selection which touches on everything from grime to footwork and beyond.
Opening with a string of unreleased cuts, Sully's mixing – smooth, yet confident in switching between styles – is, as ever, impeccable.
Throwing in a few of his own productions, this mix is a real tour de force from an artist whose knowledge and awareness of the sub-low world takes some beating.
Tune in now.
