Hard-hitting producer Dark0 opens the lid on underground UK rap and grime for the latest exclusive Clash DJ mix.
Flying the instrumental grime flag high in his own productions, Dark0’s progressive take on the genre is loaded with manic rhythms and epic synth work, veering between gritty and euphoric – check his ‘Sin’ EP on Lost Codes or psychedelic track ‘Amethyst’ for a taster. His remixes carry a lot of clout too, as demonstrated by reworks of soulful duo Anushka’s latest single ‘Kisses’ and heavyweight US rapper O. T. Genasis.
Here’s Dark0 explaining a little more about some of the selections on his hefty Clash mix – it’s a beaut, by the way. “I made a mix tying up some of my favourite UK rap mixtape tracks, classics (old and modern) and unreleased material from some of my favourite producers at the moment. I included some unreleased material that I’ve been working on recently, too. Hope you enjoy it.”
