London electronic artist Babymorocco today announces his debut album ‘Amour’, out December 6th via New York imprint True Panther Records.
With the album reveal comes new single ‘Bikinis and Trackies’, a glitch-effect, stop-start banger centring Babymorocco (or proto-protagonist, British exchange student and aspiring dancer Jean-Paul) as the lusty club interlocutor.
Of his new single, Babymorocco says: “’Bikinis and Trackies’ is a call-and-response anthem: I want to know who’s in the club, where they’re at, and exactly what they’re wearing. The moment you hear it, zippers drop, shirts loosen, and you’ll barely be able to hide it in your trackie suit.”
‘Amour’, featuring previous singles ‘Babestation‘ and ‘Crazy Cheap / Really Hot‘, is a breathless detour into “trash-pop couture, 2-step, happy hardcore, French electro, proto-EDM and utter BPM madness.” Executive produced by Frost Children with assists from producers like dear cupid., Tailtiu and more, ‘Amour’ bridges the sticky euphoria of Clubland classics with febrile dimensions of club erotica.
Of his debut collection, the future pop innovator says: “’Amour’ is a fast-paced, 16-track journey into living and becoming Babymorocco. It’s a story of transformation as I leave London and reunite in Paris with Jean Paul; the love of my life and a part of myself that I had lost. This course proves the adage: you can take the party boy out of London, but you can’t take the London out of the party boy.”
