What happens if you spend an extended period in the beautiful surrounds of Pembrokeshire with a sketchbook and dictaphone?
Well, if you’re electronic producer and musician Chris ‘Kingbastard’ Weeks, you create the aptly named ‘Beautiful Isolation’, a lush, ambient album echoing the pastural textures of Boards Of Canada and Eno. “I wanted this album to ‘work as a whole’ and document a period of my life spent in solitude,” says Weeks, shifting from the glitch-tastic crunch-hop of previous work to a more organic sound. “I’ve never been one to force myself in one direction musically. I just do what feels natural and this album is no different.”
