Don’t look now, but progressive house is back in vogue. At one point you couldn’t escape 12 minute odysseys in sound, but perhaps its pervasive universality meant that the genre fell – firmly, might we add – out of fashion. In the year of our lord 2024 we won’t tolerate such blasphemy – a fresh batch of producers have picked up the baton, transforming progressive house into a go-to for sonic mavens.
Take Body Wigs. A fresh project from Body Clinic and Wigs, the pair have teamed up for a wicked EP, and ti follows a Boiler Room appearance and a series of HARDLINE/Body High releases for Irish producer Body Clinic and a sensational release on London label GODDEZZ from Devon producer Wigs
With the likes of Kalahari Oyster Cult, Step Ball Chain and Radiant Records helping to place progressive house back on the map, this Body Wigs project couldn’t come at a better time.
CLASH invited the production duo to name the best progressive house tracks… of all time.

Escape Artist – Energy Breakthrough (Adam Pits Remix)
For myself and I’m sure many others, Adam Pits’ got me hooked on the modern progressive sound. I had been searching for this sound for a while but I was never really sure what I was looking for. As soon as I came across him, it was ‘Yep, this is it’. For me, Energy Breakthrough is the perfect track, complex but simple, high energy but deep and atmospheric and that lead synth melody is just out of this world.

Nice 2 Be Free – Guy Contact
This is definitely my most listened to track on my list. Everything Haws puts out is perfection but this EP is just something else. It perfectly bridges the gap between beautiful listening and being an absolute roof raiser. Guy Contact just has a special way of making synths talk to you.

Cola Beach – Youandewan
I vividly remember D. Tiiffany dropping this in the Ulster Sports Club in Belfast and the crowd just started grooving. Such a weird combination of sounds but still blows my trunks off everytime I listen to it.

Richard Vission – ‘Where I’m Going’
I found this when I was about 15 years old in my Uncle Jim’s record collection, even then I knew it was special. The arrangement gives this track so much energy, building and building until that filthy bassline comes in. It’s certainly been a big influence on some of my upcoming releases and if you’ve heard me DJ, you’ve probably heard this track.
