Alec Empire is a legendary figure in alternative music, blending together the hardcore strands of punk and techno with very left wing views. Still a street fighting man, Empire has mellowed since the break up of his first band, the gloriously named Atari Teenage Riot, to become something of an elder statesman for the German music scene.
